"Israel must immediately bring more olim from the Former Soviet Union" - opinion

In a recent op-ed published in the Jerusalem Post and Vesty (Russian), chairman Robert Singer calls on Israel to immediately change, adapt, and streamline the Aliyah process, as it was in the late 1980s.

The call follows the expected mass exodus of Jews from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus who seek safety and security in the face of a growing complext geopolitical reality and increasing antisemitism.

"We have a unique opportunity to bring hundreds of thousands of Jews to Israel, who will strengthen our country and our people", says Singer, as he urges the Israeli government to make the Aliyah process easier to olim coming from the Former Soviet Union.

Singer in 1987, head of the Nativ delegation to Moscow sent to assess the likelihood of Aliyah from behind the Iron Curtain.
